So, it's been awhile since I've blogged and I must again apologies for that! I've had some health issue's and still have not found many answers! It's been a VERY long 7 months! Hopefully soon I'll have some. In the mean time, I've been slowly getting back into things and finally getting around to posting some images that I have done over the last few months! These are a few of my newborns that I've done and I must say I really enjoyed doing them! So precious these bundles ans so darn cute too!!!! So enjoy, and stay tuned for more blogging! So, it has been awhile and I must apologize for that! As some of you may already know, I wanted to update my fans and clients who don't, I have been VERY ill for a long time! It started at the beginning of November when I started to experience prisms of light flashes, light headedness, severe headaches, nausea and dizziness which seemed to progressively get worse! My doctor didn't really know what was going on and it seemed when I got in front of my computer to work, it got worse, with the lights from the computer, so he banned me from the computer for awhile! Which for all you photographer's know how hard that is! NO editing, no surfing, no NOTHING! BUT my health was more important, so I listened. Literally did not turn it on for weeks, it seemed to help but I was still having a lot of problems. So he booked me to see an eye specialist and to have an MRI done on my head because of a family genetic history he wanted to rule out something called "Arterial Venus Malformation" which is like an anurism. These were scheduled for the middle of December!

At Christmas, I ended up chocking on some punch, not thinking anything of it. Soon after, I became VERY ill, on top of being ill already. I was on the couch for 6 days with fever, chills, nausea and my whole body ached so bad that the thought of touching me, hurt! I finally ended up going to emergency on New Years day because I couldn't handle it anymore and was getting scared! It turned out I had pneumonia really bad, so they put me on some very strong antibiotics and sent me home to rest and nothing else. With 4 children at home, in the middle of hockey season, you can imaging how hard it is to rest! lol So after 3 trips to the ER and back to my regular doctor, they also discovered I had VERY highblood pressure, low thyroid, and immediately put me on medications for it! It was like 195/105...crazy! So, once I was on the medication and my pneumonia was cleared up, I felt better but was still coughing and extremely tired still.

By the begging of February, all too familiar signs started coming back and back to the doctor I went on February 4th. Once again my pneumonia is back, just what i wanted to hear! It was better this time though because I caught it sooner and I didn't have all my bloodpressure issues's going on like the first time! So back on antibiotics and my puffer! He is very concerned something went into my lung when I chocked, and he said if something did my pneumonia will just keep coming back! So he's now booking me to go see a lung specialist to get to the bottom of everything! I still have a very horrible cough and am very tiered!

So, that is my story so far! That is why I have been absent and falling behind in everything, including my work and I'am so sorry for that! But my health is the most important thing right now, and I had to learn to let go of a lot of things and just heal myself! I'am slowly now starting to get back into things, so I have a lot of catching up to do with a lot of sessions! And I just wanted to send out a HUGE Thank-you to all my clients waiting so patiently for their sessions! I thank-you for understanding and I will be working on them slowly trying to catch up with everyone!

So this year again I have the privileged of photographing this event and I'am so excited about it! I may be taking more breaks then I'm normally used to but that's o.k. I wouldn't miss it for the world! It's such an amazing, inspiring event and it makes me feel so good to be able to capture all those moments! I can't wait! So, this is a little of what I've been up to lately. I just couldn't wait to post these anymore because as a mother of 4 children myself, I found this time the most amazing time in a woman's life. The moment you find out you have a life growing inside of you, is a moment you will treasure forever. It is the most exciting, emotional, anxious and fulfilling feeling in the world all at once. It is a feeling I miss and yearn for on some days like the days I photograph these beautiful women, however at this point in my life, I know it is a feeling I can no longer have and I'm O.K. with that! So through these women and their growing bellies I can satisfy that need! I think pregnant women are the most BEAUTIFUL women in the world! So enjoy and cherish that bump as it truly goes by so fast. All of these women have had their little one's and I will be posting some of those soon!!!!

So, this is a little bit of what I have been up to lately! I know I have been a horrible blogger and for this I'am sorry. There are some reasons though, firstly being that I have 4 children at home and during the summer I have no time for anything but them and so now that they are in school, I can breath a little and mabey catch up. Also, I'am working on a website so I don't want to show you all my good stuff right away, so I'am saving that for when I will launch it so you'll just have to be patient and understanding..... because now it's HOCKEY and VOLLEYBALL season!!!!! So with 3 boys and a husband in hockey and a daughter on the senior volleyball team it will be very crazy, so I promise to try my best to keep things updated! It has been a very busy photography season also as I had a lot of weddings, maternity and with that comes newborns and also family portrait season! So, I was asked to photograph this beautiful graduate by her sister, who purchased a senior/grad session as a graduation gift for her. What a thoughtful sister, and they were so much fun!!!! We were supposed to do it before grad but the weather did not co-operate so we did it the day AFTER grad! Yes, the day after, doesn't she look amazing for after grad???? It's so funny how you just click with certain people and it was like I knew them forever. We ran around town and had so much fun and they were willing to try anything and he was awesome too! Thanks Jordann and Chenee for an AMAZING evening with you!!!! You both are so beautiful, inside and out!!!! Enjoy..... She seriously should be a model!!!!

So, my family and I were playing in the back yard and all of sudden we heard a funny noise and some flapping. We look up and see this beautiful bird sitting on a branch. A bald Eagle in our yard, WoW! Of course, I quietly run in and grab my camera just in time to snap a couple shots of it before it flew off. Unfortunately I forgot to change my white balance and it still was on a custom studio setting! So the WB is off some, sorry! Ooopppsss..... but at least I got some shots! What a beautiful bird, and so big!!!!!

So, I've finally gotten around to post some pictures form this years ST.Valentines Day Hair Massacure which took place on February 13, 2010. This was my 3rd year photographing this event and once again, it was AMAZING!!!!!!!! The emotions, the dedication that these wonderful people have is nothing short of Miraculous! I'am very honored to be a part of this event every year, and it only keeps getting better and better. We are really hoping to reach the ONE MILLION mark this year and from what I last heard, we are not far off!!!! YEAH.......... So, I started to dabble a bit in the Boudoir world, and I think I'm really going to enjoy this type of creative, sexy photography!!!!! I think every woman should try this once because everyone should be able to feel this good about themselves! It really is a confidence booster because this type of photography is very stunning both visually and creatively. Of course, these ladies were gorgeous and made my job quite easy. So, this was my first time doing a studio wedding, and I must say I rather enjoyed it! Of course it helps when you have such a beautiful bride to photograph! This bride and groom were actually married in Mexico the week or so before this. A beautiful wedding out by the ocean(no snow like we had !), and had a little reception here when they got back! Well. I had such an amazing time photographing this beautiful mother to be. It had been awhile since I had done a maternity session, and I was soon reminded as to why I loved doing them so much. It is such a special time in one's life, the feeling of growing another human being is the MOST amazing thing I have ever experienced as a mother. So, another great challenge was given to us by the most amazing photographers ever http://www.twophotogs.com. For anyone who knows me, knows this one was not easy for me! I'm really good at taking pictures but no so good at being in front of the camera. This challenge is about a self portrait of your guilty pleasure. Made me really think, I have A LOT of them but my most famous one is (as anyone who knows me knows) CHIPS, MOVIES and PJ'S . I LOVE my PJ bottoms and chips. So here is my self portrait of myself, showing me at my guilty pleasure. Look at my poor little dog watching me..... LOL By the way this self timer thing and focus is not as easy as it seems!!!!! Another great family session in a great location!!!!! The family actually wanted snow, which we ended up not having much of , but it turned out to be a great day anyway!!!!! Lot's of fun, great location and a great family!!!!! Once again, my challenge was the children, but we ended up getting some great shots anyway!!!!! So, a challenge was given by two amazing photographers,Danna Bowes and Brandy Anderson of Fresh Sugar, who came together and created "Two Photogs", a blog where they can share their amazing talent with us. The first assignment was to pick a color and go out an shoot it in various ways. So I choose RED, thinking it would be a common color, but in our little town, was very hard to find especially on a sunday. So I ventured outside in my yard and surprisingly found many things to photograph! So here it is........

I had such a great time photographing this family. Even though, it was some of our last days of fall and the weather was a little bit chilly, they all did great!!!!! I just love this time of the year, the colors are so amazing and it's so sad that it's here and gone so fast!!!!! My favorite part of being a photographer, is being able to capture those moments that the family looks back on and cherishes forever!!!!! This client called to tell me that the pictures brought tears to her eyes, and it's that kind of reaction that makes my job so wonderful!!!! This senior session, I must say, was SO much fun!!!!! Ashley, is so stunning, she made my job easy. I was so excited about how this session turned out, that I was only going to share a few, but I got a little carried away! It was really hard to pick which one's to post because I LOVED them all. She has the most beautiful eye's I've ever had the chance to photograph!!! In this first picture I was trying something new and loved the way it turned out. Definitely one of my favorites!!!! Yup, I'm still here! I'm sorry, I haven't been a very good blogger lately, but things have been so busy for me lately. With summer here and my children are done school, things can get kinda crazy. But I promise I will have A LOT to post for you shortly. I've been very busy with sessions and editing, and of course CAMPING which as a family we LOVE to do. So bear with me, summer is slow going for getting as much done as I would like to, as we are always on the go!!!!!!

It was so amazing, met new friends, studied with a pro and came back with new inspiration!!!! I'am pretty proud of this picture(all of them!) because it was pretty much SOOC, just a curves adjustment and a bit of sharpening!

So, I'm back now from my AMAZING trip to Indianna! It was so much fun and I learnt so much there. We even experienced a Tornado warning which was kinda exciting!!!! I have hundreds of picture's to go through so it might be a bit before I get any up, but for now here is a session of a 3 yr old I did just before leaving. He was such a sweetheart and once I got Mom to leave, I could get some good shots of him!!

For those of you who don't know, I'm off to Indianna tonight for 7 days of fun! I'm actually going down to Indianna to attend an awesome Photography Workshop down there. So 3 of those days are work, but FUN work that I'am so so so excited for!!!! This is a once in a lifetime experiance that I only dreamed about, I'm so anxious for this. So much to experience and learn that I just can't contain my excitement!!!!!! I will come back with so much gained knowledge, and a fresh new energy that you all should stay tuned for some fun new things to come with my photography business!!!

So with that I'am off to sun, fun and relaxation!!!!!! My husband is coming with me, so we are making it like a second honeymoon!!!! Hehhe

Little Miss M. was a pleasure to photograph. She was just about 3 wks old already, so she fought me on a few, but I think they turned out great just the same. She wasn't feeling very well and had a horrible cough, and I later found out that she ended up in the hospital that night with RSV, and stayed in for almost a week. So I must say, Little Miss M. was quite the trooper.

So. a couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing this amazing couple Andrea and Mike!. I took a workshop by the talented Rob and Lauren(www.robandlauren.ca) and I must say.....WOW!!!!!! What great times we had and even though we went out in a snow storm, Andrea & Mike were such troopers for us to endure all that for us. Thanks guy's, you were great!!!! Despite the weather, we were able to capture what I feel are amazing shots! What a great group of photographers,very talented and eager to learn. Such good times.......so here are a few of the very many shots I got. Enjoy.....

So, I finally had the chance about a month ago to go to Edmonton and do a shoot with my sister. We've been wanting to try this for awhile, and I must say, it was so much fun!!!!! I wish we had locations like this back home where I'm from. Although, they weren't as easy to find as I thought they would be because I don't know Edmonton all that well. I got the chance to try some angle's and positions that I've been wanting to and my sister was the perfect model for me. Thanks Melissa for being such a good sport!!!!! I've been inspired from other photographer friends, and I think I'am finally finding a style that I like. I'm doing a " Chill Session" with Rob & Lauren this sunday and I'am so looking forward to it!!!! Anyway, I wanted to share with you all some images(which turned into A LOT) so have fun looking and please leave me a note to let me know what you think!!!

So, this is our sweet little Chihuahua STEWIE!!!!! About a month ago, we found out he is dying of congenital heart failure and only has a short time to live. This has saddened our family very much, and is very difficult to watch him everyday knowing he won't be here much longer. My children are taking it very hard and dread the day we have to put him to sleep. So, we decided we would honor Stewie by doing a little photoshoot with him so we would have some beautiful memories of him!!!! I love taking picture's of my pets, but I must say, this was a hard one for me! So, I wanted to share these with you!!!!

These are my four beautiful children. Kayla is 12yrs old(soon to be 13....agggg!!!!) Jayden is 10yrs, Dayne is 7 yrs and our little Premie is now 5 yrs old!!!!!! For those of you who don't know Kwayd was born at 27 wks gestation and was 3lbs at birth. We stayed in the hospital for 9 LONG weeks, but glad to say, we had our ups and downs and almost lost him the first night BUT he is a fighter and and has NO problems at all now!!!! Anyway, I LOVE this picture of them. You can see their love.

Well it's that time of the year again for my spring giveaway!!!!! And since the snow is finally starting to melt, what better time than now!!!

This year I decided to spice things up a bit and make you work for this one.
Here's the catch..........I think ALL Mother's are special and in order to Honor you as a mother, I want to hear WHY you think YOU or YOUR Mother deserve this session!!!! In a few words, share with me why You or your loved one(mother, friend, sister, ect.....who is a mother) are important and deserve this special gift to honor you. It's O.K. to nominate yourself....because you are important too!!!!!

{The Prize}

One free Mother's Day Session, which can include just you or with your loved one(mother, daughter). Also included is a $20 credit towards prints or CD and a coil bound book with 10 images! That's a total value of about $150.

{Rules}

This contest is open to residents within an hour driving distance from Plamondon, AB. The winner can call or e-mail me to schedule their session by May 1, 2009. The session must take place before September 1, 2009! Participants must be willing to sign a model release allowing Memories For Life to use their images for advertising or display purposes. If you want picture's to give for Mother's day, you should book your session right away after the draw.
